First of the Frame film burns
The first frame on a roll of film more often than not has a unique 'burn' across a portion of the image. This is a result of some of that frame being completely exposed to light when the film roll was loaded into the camera.
We've collected some of our all time favourite film burns, occupying varying degrees of the frame, with different shapes, strengths, colour hues and other varieties to satisfy all your needs!
Light leaks
Light leaks are one of the more common happy accidents in analogue photography - occurring when light enters the camera and impacts the resulting photograph.
Some light leaks are subtle, some are almost all-consuming, and they vary wildly. The perfect textural addition to your digital photographs.
Damaged film
Sometimes film gets a little interfered with. A camera gets water logged, moscato leaks through a bag, a roll of film goes through the wash - there's plenty of ways the senstive properties of film get a little thrown off, and the results can often be spectacular.
Strange gradients, colourful splashes of chemistry, bends and creases, we've collated them all.
Experimental curios
Some of our favourite artefacts are the strangest - a giant X drawn on a frame with a sharpie, a mosquito that's gotten imprinted in the negative, film that seems to have almost gone mouldy, these strange cases often contain the most delightful results.

what programs do i need to use this pack?
You'll need Adobe Photoshop to utilise our Grainmaker tools properly. This is due to the nature of our additive, modular work flow which we've found Photoshop caters for best.
How do these work?
This pack contains a huge variety of all sorts of light leaks, film burns, and curious, strange artefacts carefully extracted from real film photos and formatted and digitised for use with your own digital snaps!
Are these real film artefacts?
Yes! Each light leak, film burn, and damaged & experimental artefact has come from real film, processed through industry machines, and then selected, formatted and curated for this pack. You can't get much more analogue without shooting on film and soaking your own rolls in Moscato!
